As with every other organization and business, CLCF track under the CLCF sports umbrella has the safety of its athletes, coaches and families at the forefront. We will only conduct an indoor season if we can do so safely for everyone.
Safety is a priority which is why we are limiting the number of participants this season. The athletes will grouped into pods, where they will remain for the season. All athletes will wear a mask at practice. No parents are allowed into the facility. Athletes are expected to socially distance while at practice. Any athlete who is not feeling well, should not attend practice. If an athletes is exposed to someone who has COVID, then they should not attend practice.
Any cancellations will be posted on our social media site, this website and in an email blast at least one hour prior to the start of practice. If you do not hear from Coach Frank or see it on social media that it has been cancelled, then the practice is still on. Athletes are all expected to wear workout/running attire to practice for their safety and comfort. Each child should bring their own water bottle and of course not share it with others.
The indoor track program offers training and exposure to indoor track for those with experience and those just beginning. Practices include various running workouts that are complemented by the use of medicine balls, training hurdles and more. Wednesday nights 5-6 pm, Thursdays 5-6 pm and Saturdays 7:45-8:45 am. For ages 5-14 years old. All practices are held at the West Warwick Civic Center at 100 Factory St.
Indoor track offers one program for $110 due to the pandemic which includes a CLCF face mask. Practice is three days a week as stated above.
There are many different chances for athletes to compete, locally and outside of Rhode Island. The competitive level of the meets vary from developmental to highly competitive. The indoor team participates in the USATF/Hershey Indoor Track Championship and other USATF sanctioned meets. CLCF track is looking to get into AAU track meets this winter as well. **Due to COVID, there are no official competitions planned as of right now. **
